Sarah Margaretta (Margie) Leonard Easter

Mrs. Sarah Margaretta (Margie) Leonard Easter, age 82 of Cana, VA passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Galax, VA. Mrs. Easter was born December 22, 1924 in Carroll County to the late Walter Clinton and Sarah Cynthia Jones Leonard. Mrs. Easter was a homemaker and a member of Flower Gap Baptist Church. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph W. Easter; a sister, Mabel Speas and four brothers, Harmon, Haywood, Rush and Brice Leonard. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday December 2, 2007 at 3:00 PM at Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Kenneth Hopkins with burial to follow in the Leonard Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 7:00 - 9:00 PM where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
