Sarah Viola Haynes Hicks

Mrs. Sarah Viola Haynes Hicks, 95 of Lambsburg, VA., passed away at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadow Nursing Facility Tuesday, November 5, 2013. She was born in Surry County on January 18, 1918 to the late Isaac and Cora Phillips Haynes, and was retired from McCory Variety in St. Petersburg, FL.Mrs. Hicks was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law Janice Wilmoth of Lowgap and Linda and James Gray of Lambsburg, VA., one son and two daughters-in-law Jerry and Gayla Hicks of Pinellas Park, FL.and Julie Hicks of Mt. Airy, Thirteen grandchildren and Seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Hicks, her son John Hicks, a son-in-law Alvin Wilmoth and several brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Larry Stone with burial to follow in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night 6 to 8 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
