Shannon Deann Harrison Surratt

Mrs. Shannon Deann Harrison Surratt, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by the ones that she loved and loved her.  She was born in Surry County on July 16, 1964, the only daughter of the late William Andrew Harrison, Jr., and Joyce Lee Mitchell Harrison.  She was a loving and wonderful person who cherished her family, especially her precious grandchildren.  Surviving Shannon are her loving husband of 38 years, Mark Ray Surratt; her only daughter, Amanda Marie Surratt Vernon and husband, Reid Franklin Vernon, III; her two wonderful grandchildren, Lynsey Madison Vernon, and Liam Emmory Vernon; her two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy Randall “Randy” Harrison and wife Tammie and William Andrew “Andy” Harrison; a half-brother, Mark and Debbie Mitchell; two uncles, Jeff Mitchell, and Jerry and Marlene Mitchell; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William “Leslee” Surratt and wife Kimberly Nicole; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.  A service of worship and celebration of Shannon’s life will be held later.  The family would like to give a huge thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice for all of the love and support given to Shannon and the family during her illness.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Surratt family.
