Shannon DeeAnne Upchurch Hall

Ms. Shannon DeeAnne Upchurch Hall, age 55 of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born May 19, 1969, in Surry County to Mary Jane Haynes and the late Gleathern Ray Upchurch. She was a registered nurse for over 16 years as long as her health permitted. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, and friend who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Scott Coleson, and Emily and Jeremy Dixon; grandchildren whom she adored, Peyton Coleson, Bella Coleson, Brylee Hall, Mason Dixon, Kayden Dixon, and Emma Dixon; mother, Mary Jane Haynes; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Deana Upchurch; nephew and his wife, Jordan and Summer Upchurch; niece, Morgan Upchurch; step-mother, Linda Upchurch; special aunt and caregiver, Kathy Upchurch Edmonds; and a host of other family and friends along with her church family at The Friendly Tabernacle. In addition to her father, Ms. Hall was preceded in death by a grandson, Brantley Hall.  Funeral services will be held on Friday February 14, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy at 2:00pm with Rev. Scott Coleson, Rev. Kenneth McNeill and Rev. Michael Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Edwards-Upchurch Cemetery in Lambsburg, VA. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 – 2:00pm. The Hall family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Alexander Waite and the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for all of the love and care shown to Shannon during her illness.
