Sharon Lynn Gates-Hodges

Ms. Sharon Lynn Gates-Hodges, age 65, of Dobson, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022. She was born August 7, 1957 in Guilford County to the late Bennett Knight Gates and the late Catherine Jackson Gates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Hodges; and her beloved mother-in-law, Muriel Hodges.  

            Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Taryn Lynne Mabe Campbell (John); her grandchildren Noah Jayden Campbell and Natalyn Catherine Freeman; sister, Amanda Catherine Gates-Holt (Doug); brothers, Bennett Curtis Gates (Debra) and Brian Keith Gates (Sherry); nieces and nephews, Maggie Eliza Holt, Jakob Knight Fletcher Holt (Sadie), Jackson Bennett Gates and Cannon James Gates; and numerous special friends.  

          Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; a caring friend to all who knew her. Additionally, she was a retired engineer, a lifelong member of Dobson First Baptist Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and actively involved with the Town of Dobson. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 in the sanctuary of Dobson First Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the church with Pastor Cory Honeycutt and Dr. Van Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the Riggins Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the mission fund of Dobson First Baptist Church. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Gates-Hodges family.
