Sharon Joy Smith Hardy

Mrs. Sharon Joy Smith Hardy Age 55 of Mt. Airy passed way Friday April 17, 2015 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Hardy was born January 1, 1960 in Surry County to Billy Grey and Peggy Beck Smith. Sharon was a teacher, Asst. Principal and Principal in the Surry County School System for 21 Years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband Rex Hardy of the home, one daughter and son-in-law Tasha and Jackie Crotts of Midlothian, VA, one son and daughter-in-law Chase and Shannon Hardy of Mt. Airy, four grandchildren Campbell Hardy and Mason Hardy both of Mt. Airy, Carrigan Crotts and Kylee Crotts both of Midlothian Va., two step grandchildren Cansas Crotts and Jared Crotts of Midlothian, Va., her parents Billy Grey and Peggy Beck Smith of Mt. Airy, one sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Randy Gentry of Mt. Airy, niece Adrianne George of Miami, FL. and nephew Stephen George and wife Julie of Woodstock, GA. Funeral services will be held Sunday April 19, 2015 at 3:00 PM. at Calvary Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin with burial to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Surry County Educational Foundation, 314 Crutchfield St. Dobson, NC. 27017 or to the Salvation Army, 651 South South St. Mt. Airy, NC. 27030.
