Sharon Renee Marsh Sawyers

Mrs. Sharon Renee Marsh Sawyers, 49, of Cana, VA, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Sawyers was born February 1, 1967, in Guilford County, the daughter of Linda Tolbert Guynn and the late James William Marsh. Sharon worked at Mayes Wholesale Tack and Cana Service Center for many years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Howard “Tony” Sawyers; two daughters, Melanie Shinault and Trinity Martinez; a son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Margo Alford; three grandchildren, Markus, Christopher, and Jonathan; her mother and stepfather, Linda and Dennis Guynn; a sister, Tammy Snow; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Melinda Guynn, Eddie and Sara Marsh, and Mike and Mary Marsh; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Theresa Sandlin. In addition to her father, Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Lucy Simmons. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Zane Fishel and the Rev. Harlow Goins officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Linda and Dennis Guynn at 143 Birchwood Drive, Mount Airy.
