Sharon Elizabeth (Short) Thomas

Ms. Sharon Elizabeth Short Thomas, age 69 of King, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Ms. Thomas was born on November 24, 1953, in Surry County to the late George and Bessie Sutphin Short.  Sharon was a loving mother, nanny, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Lynn Boles and Nick; three grandchildren, Lawson Edward Almond, Kaylee Renae Boles, Paisley Elizabeth Boles, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothea Short Reagin, and Rodney; June Short Shackelford, Judy Short Collins; two brothers, Frankie Short, Gregory Short; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Thomas was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kelly Ann Thomas; an infant son, Kenneth Andrew Thomas; three brothers, Dallas Short, Ray Short, and Ronnie Short.  A private graveside service for family and friends will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy with Rev. Chris Martin officiating.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
