Shelby Jean Edwards Goodson

Mrs. Shelby Jean Edwards Goodson 73 of 351 Ramey Orchard Rd. Lowgap, NC. passed away Monday morning April 2, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Goodson was born October 8, 1938 in Grayson County to the late Burt and Mae Tompkins Edwards, she was retired from the Eckerd Foundation as Head Cook and was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Pam and Michael Norman of Mooresville, two sons and daughters-in-law Johnny and Sue Goodson of Mt. Airy and Garrett and Evelyn Goodson of Lowgap, four grandchildren Richard Goodson, Brookelyn Norman, Todd Norman and Abygail Goodson, one great grandchild Reily Goodson and a special friend Don Wurtz of Lowgap. In addition to her parents Mrs. Goodson was preceded in death by her husband Eldean Goodson by a son Jeffrey Goodson and by five sisters Jessie Easter, Imogene Vass, Mary Ruth Monday, Betty Jo Smith and Helen Husko. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 11: 00 AM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Joe Atkins and Rev. Sam Blevins with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time for the service at the church.
