Shelby Gay Marsh

Mrs. Shelby Hardy Marsh, 85, of Mount Airy went home to be with her heavenly father Jesus Christ and her husband of 67 years on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Surry County on April 28, 1937, to the late Roby James and Ethel Doss Hardy.  Mrs. Marsh was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and nannie to everyone who knew her.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and attended Westside Baptist Church.  She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Randy Nichols, Tammy and Rodney Hamm; grandchildren, Ashley and DJ Montgomery, Matthew and Rebecca Nichols, Jonathan and Alex Hamm, Joshua and Leslie Hamm; great grandchildren, Paisley Montgomery, Jessie Hamm, Sadie Hamm, Waylon Hamm, and Meredith Nichols; sisters, Mary Kaye Snow, and Faye Tucker; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by her husband, James “Lenwood” Marsh; a son, Gary Lynn Marsh; brothers, Wayne Hardy, Roby “RJ” Hardy.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
