Shelvia Jean Gough

Shelvia Meadows Gough, 77, of King, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2018.  She was born in Forsyth County on October 5, 1940 to Douglas and Mildred Meadows.  She worked at Bahnsons until 1984 and became a housewife.  Her hobbies included crafts, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family. Her humor and laughter was infectious as well her love for life.   She was a devoted wife, mother and Memaw.   She attended Calvary Baptist Church in King, NC until she could no longer attend and then watched services via internet.  Mrs. Gough was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jimmy Hauser; grandson Corey Collier and granddaughter Addison Burroughs; three brothers Cletus, Jimmy and Dwight Meadows.  Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Larry Gough and loyal companion “Bailey” always by her side; two daughters, Kim “Mark” Smith of Newton and Kathy “Mike” Shelton of Walnut-Cove, two sons, Kevin “Pam” Hauser of King and Jeff “Maria” Gough of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; Dustin “Jordan” Smith, Jeremy “Tyesha” Smith, Allen “Brittany” Shelton, Nicole “Justin” Nelson, Stephanie “Cody” Burroughs, Grayson and Gavin Gough and Trevor Hauser; nine great grandchildren, Callen, Wilder and Finley Smith, Riley and Ryder Shelton, Mason and Madison Nelson, Brayden Burroughs, and expecting baby Landon Smith. She is also survived by two sisters; Kathy “Lloyd” Southern and Laura “Ricky” Reynolds both of Winston-Salem.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in King with services conducted by Rev. Kevin Broyhill. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until time for the service at the Calvary Baptist Church.  The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church 536 S Main St, King, NC 27021.
