Mr. Sherman Foley Bledsoe age 81 the loving husband, father, grandfather passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2006 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Surry County on March 13, 1925 to the late Rev. John Bledsoe and the late Geneva Eller Dinkins Bledsoe. The was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a Number One Farmer. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Martha Bessie Jenkins Bledsoe of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Pat and Tim Parker of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law Ray and Kim Bledsoe of Dobson; nine grandchildren Michelle and David Oxendine, Mitchell Parker, Dustin Bledsoe, Brooke Hall, Bailey Bledsoe, Zack Bledsoe, Nicole Hall, Laken Hall, McKenzie (Squeaker) Bledsoe; four great grandchildren Charlie (Matt) Oxendine, Sarah Oxendine, Dillon Parker, Keaton Landis; three sisters Stacey Jenkins, Ola Newman, Mary Ruth Beck, all of Dobson. Several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Eller Bottoms; seven brothers Elbert Bledsoe, Willie Bledsoe, Lloyd Bledsoe, Harvey Bledsoe, Earnest Bledsoe, Buck Bledsoe and Herman Bledsoe. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 11, 2006 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Curtis Ponder, Rev. Mark Newman, Rev. Barlow Stanley and Brother Don Collins will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Friday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. and at other times at his home. Moody-Davis in Dobson is serving the Bledsoe family.
