Sherry Lynn Poindexter Berman

Sherry Lynn Poindexter Berman, 64, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sherry’s life was marked by her unwavering love for those around her, her passion for teaching, and her commitment to living with kindness and compassion.

She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Harris “Andy” Berman; her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Nate Gibson; her son, Adam Fishback; and her beloved grandson, Elijah Gibson. She also leaves behind her stepson, Jacob Berman; her stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Alyssa and Elias Losego; her stepson, Max Berman; and her stepdaughter, Lucy Berman.

Sherry is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Scott Miller and Deanna and Jeff Edmonds; her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and DeAnn Poindexter; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Dean and Wanda Moorefield Poindexter; her beloved son, Stephen Fishback; and her sister, Penny Poindexter McCormick.

A service of worship and celebration of Sherry’s life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Dobson First Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeremy Pegram and Rev. Cindy Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 PM.
