Sherry Ann (Nichols) Hiatt

Mrs. Sherry Ann Nichols Hiatt, 73 of Ararat, Virginia passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Hiatt was born in Surry County on February 10, 1949, to the late Howard and Mary Bryant Nichols.  Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughters-in-law, Darel Hodges and Jodie, Darin Hodges and Sharon; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Trista, Kari, Jonah, Micah, Oliveah, Abby, Brooklyn, Colin; two great grandchildren, Emma, Colby; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra Nichols and Kent; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David Nichols and Margaret, Danny Nichols and Verna; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Lee Hiatt; and the father of her children, Hardin Hodges.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Sechrist and Brother Sammy Lawson officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Novant Health Cancer Institute - Mount Airy for the loving and care given to Mrs. Hiatt.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
