Mrs. Sherry Luanne Tate Tucker, 50, of 627 Knollwood Drive, Mount Airy, spouse of Ronald Tucker, died Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Tucker was born April 27, 1957, in Surry County, to Carlie Ray and Peggy Jarrell Tate. She was founder and owner of Advance Mortgage Company and The Wedding Planner of Mount Airy and was a graduate of North Surry High School and Kings College. She was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star #377 of Round Peak. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a friend of all in the community. Surviving are her spouse, Ronald Tucker of the home; her children, Christopher Goughary of Winston-Salem, Dylan Goughary of the home, Denise Tucker of Winston-Salem, and Dustin Goughary of Laurel Hills, FL; and three grandchildren, Chloe Goughary, Daniel Goughary, and Charlie McSwain. Other surviving family members include Terry and Marion Tate of Herndon, VA, and Randy "Yogi" Tate and Vann and Kim Tate of Mount Airy; niece, Karleigh Tate; nephews, Anthony, Jason, and Sean Tate; two special aunts, Berlene Porter and Okie Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Jo Tucker and Delorse and Danny McGill; niece by marriage Lisa Tucker; and nephews by marriage, Russ McGill and Lynn McGill. Additional relatives include several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her father, Carlie Ray Tate; a brother, Ronnie Dale Tate; and grandparents, Earl and Elsie Tate and Zeb and Rhoda Jarrell. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 13, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church in Mount Airy. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert McCrary, the Rev. Doug Cockerham, and the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud: Cameron, and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 27, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
