Shirley Louise Heath

Mrs. Shirley Louise Atkins Heath, 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Twelve Oaks Retirement Center.  Mrs. Heath was born in Surry County on August 10, 1942, to the late Coy Nathan and Mae Marie Wolfe Atkins.  She was retired from Proctor-Silex and the Mount Airy City School System.  She is survived by her husband, Hal William Heath; daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Clyde Johnson, Frances and Lance Earley; sons and daughter-in-law, David Heath, Mark and Pam Heath; grandchildren, Brittney Preslar and husband Jason, Justin Johnson, Tiffany Earley, Levi Earley, and Lindsey Earley; great grandchildren, Finn Preslar and Sarah Whittington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Jerry Moore, Bonnie and Avis Dalton, Nancy and Phillip Thacker; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Tammy Atkins; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by a sister, Judy White, a nephew, Nathan Atkins.  A funeral service will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Edwards and Chaplin Rickey Spencer officiating.  Burial will follow in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
