My heart breaks to hear this. She was my first grade teacher at Dobson Elementary and my favorite teacher of all time! I had always wanted to see her again and I am so sad I didn't get to do that. My prayers are with her family!!

I send my condolences to the family and have them in my prayers to receive God's comfort and to keep all their warm memories with Mrs. Hiatt close. She was my first grade teacher and I loved her from the first day. I truly believed that she was the best and prettiest teacher of all. She lived up to my expectations and I will always cherish those fond memories I have.

I had the privilege of teaching with Shirley at Dobson Elementary many years ago. She was also my daughters teacher in her first year of school. It was such a positive experience. We have warm wonderful memories of Shirley. Her beautiful smiles were evidence of the beautiful soul she always was.
