Shirley Lee Corn Jones

Mrs. Shirley Lee Corn Jones, 70, of 205 City View Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Jones was born March 28, 1938, in Surry County, daughter of the late Henry James and Thelma Lucille York Corn. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Thomas Gullatt of Elkin; two sons, Ricky Jones and Ronald Jones, both of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Amanda Gullatt of Elkin; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Mary Ellen Corn of Ararat, VA, and Dr. Junior and Ruth Corn of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Frank Jones; and two sisters, Henrietta Mosley and Linda Jones. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Victor S. Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
