         Mrs. Shirley Mae Vipperman Leath, age 68, of Stuart passed from this life on Friday, July 31, 2020 and is now shouting on the streets of glory.  She was born in Patrick County on October 28, 1951 to the late John Henry Vipperman and Elvie Lee Hooker Vipperman.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Linford Vipperman, Sr; and a nephew, Linford Vipperman.  Shirley was a longtime member of Abiding Grace Family Worship Center and was the mother of the church.  She had retired from Blue Ridge Nursing Center as an RN.

         Surviving are four children; Billy (Donna) Leath, Jr of Stuart, Michael (Carol) Leath of Bassett, Rhonda (Ronald) Barrett-Tuttle of Spencer, Tina Young and fiancé, Eric Bennett of NC; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three sisters, Glennie (Sanford) Clifton of Patrick Springs, Bonnie Reynolds and fiancé, Mitch Vestal of Spencer, Mary (Daniel) Quesenberry of Spencer; four brothers, Henry (Ann) Vipperman of Bassett, Jim (Eva) Vipperman, James Vipperman, Amos (Connie) Vipperman all of Patrick Springs; special friends, Billy Leath, Sr., Shannon Leath, Tammy and Steve Timko; and numerous nieces and nephews.

         Following Covid19 restrictions a funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Abiding Grace Family Worship Center with Pastors JR Vipperman, Dwayne Pruitt, and Stacy Vipperman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hooker Family Cemetery in Vesta.
