Mrs. Shirley Mae Parker, age 75, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home. She was born in Guilford County on April 15, 1944 to the late William and Lillian Myers Puckett. Mrs. Parker was retired from Kentucky Derby Hosiery. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are sons and daughters-in-laws, James Whitaker and wife Kellie, Fred Parker Jr. and wife Teresa, Jeff Parker and wife Rebecca, Brian Parker and wife Christy, Mark Parker and wife Megan; step-daughters and sons-in-laws, Sandra Bryant and husband Ray, Vicky Jones and husband Roger, Gail Guynn Jones; grandchildren, Crystal Page, James Whitaker, Amanda Easter, Brian Parker Jr., Fred Parker III, Scarlett Parker, Calvin Parker, Kathryne Porter, Maggie Parker, Jacob Parker, Carrie Parker, Caleb Parker as well as seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Edward Parker Sr., step-daughter Linda Parker and a son-in-law Paul Guynn; adoptive parents, Warren and Kathryn Draughn, adoptive brothers, Tommy Draughn and Bill Manley as well as her favorite pet, Spicy. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Hank Robertson and Rev. Tommy Shelton. Burial will follow in Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, and at other times at the home of Brian and Christy Parker, 155 Rockford Road, Dobson, NC, 27017. Burial will follow in the Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
