Ms. Shirley Ann Jessup Ryan, 68, of 407 Snody Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday night, April 23, 2010. She was born April 23, 1942, in Surry County, to the late Ora Wayne and Versie Mae East Jessup. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Anna and Paul Cannon of Statesville, Wanda and Charles Martin of Stanleyville, Vera Sue Jessup of Kernersville, and Frankie Haynes of Mount Airy; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifton and Donnie Jessup of Mount Airy, Charles and Darlene Jessup of Elizabeth City, Ora Weldon and Ann Jessup of Clingman, Paul and Edna Jessup of Asheville, and Larry Gray Jessup of Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Ryan was preceded in death by three sisters, Nina Mae Brewer, Ruth Haynes, and Janet Harris; and a brother, James Junior Jessup. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 26, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Don Collins, the Rev. Robbie Vance, the Rev. Billy Martin, and the Rev. Ronnie Jessup officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
