Shirley Stanley Shinault

Mrs. Shirley Louise Stanley Shinault, 62, of Dobson, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 13, 2010, at her home. She was born February 21, 1948, in Surry County, to the late Roby Durham and Nellie McCree Stanley. Mrs. Shinault was employed by Surry County Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria at Copeland Elementary School for eleven years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, Billy "Ray" Shinault of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Greg Shores of Thurmond; a son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Amber Shinault of Dobson; her beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Tara and Corey Quesinberry of Thurmond, Ashley and Josh Perdue of Rhonda, Dana Shores of Thurmond, and Amanda Shinault and Elizabeth Shinault, both of Dobson; two special great-granddaughters, Gracie Quesinberry and Lylah Perdue; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joyce and Dallas Corder of Dobson, Patricia Harrison of Elkin, and Libby and Ranson Wood of Trap Hill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shinault was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Lee Stanley and Roby Dexter Stanley. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Dobson, with the Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, where her body will remain until the hour of the service.
