Shirley Elaine (Gwyn) Wilson

Mrs. Shirley Elaine Gwyn Wilson, 76 of Asheboro, passed away at Randolph Health in Asheboro, North Carolina on Friday, December 24, 2021. Mrs. Wilson was born in Surry County on April 28, 1945, to the late James and Dorothy Carico Gwyn. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mac Arthur Wilson; two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Elane Drye, Peggy Renee Wilson Hettig and husband, Tom; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robbie Wilson and wife Brittany, Kevin McArthur Wilson and wife Tina; twelve grandchildren, Bubba Hesley and wife Jennifer, Doodle Millikan and wife, C.J., Jennifer Hesley, Marissa Millikan and husband Brian, Cody Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Madison Wilson, Sawyer Wilson, Tucker Wilson, Grayson Brookner, Carson Brookner, Brenson Brookner; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Hesley, Xane Griffith, Allanah Griffith; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tippy Gwyn and wife Dorothy, and Junior Gwyn and wife Sylvia. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kirkman; four brothers, Jerry Thomas Gwyn, Charlie Monroe Gwyn, David Raymond Marion, and Glenn Albert Gwyn. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Pastor Daniel Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery in Westfield. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
