Silas Oscar Harrison, Jr

Mr. Silas Oscar Harrison, Jr., 73, husband of Violet Lowe Harrison, passed away on Sunday September 23, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Carroll County, VA. on September 2, 1934 to the late Silas Oscar, Sr. and Eva Bedsaul Harrison. Mr. Harrison was retired from Webb Furniture #2 and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Violet Lowe Harrison; six sons and four daughters-in-law. Brad and Patsy Harrison of Lowgap, Mike and Bonita Harrison of Mt. Airy, Doug and Angie Harrison of Lowgap, Phil and Amy Harrison of Lowgap, Tony Harrison of the home and Rodney Harrison of Lenoir City Tenn. and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 26, 2007 at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Parsons and Rev. Ruben Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Carson-Hodge Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson where his body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service.
