Sondra Faye Wilmoth Thompson

Ms. Sondra Faye Wilmoth Thompson, 61, of Dobson, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born February 23, 1949, in Surry County, to Mittie Ruth Wolfe Wilmoth and the late Kelly Basil Wilmoth. She retired from Proctor-Silex Inc. and Parents' Choice. Sondra was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Denise Thompson Payne and Michael Payne of Cana VA; three grandchildren, Brittany Willard, Samantha Payne, and Amanda Wall; her mother, Mittie Ruth Wolfe Wilmoth of Dobson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy and Jack King of Dobson and Sue Atkins of Cary; and two nephews and their wives, Chris and Jay Wilmoth of Weaverville and Eric and Lynette King of Statesville. In addition to her father, Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Maude Wolfe and T.B. and Lillan Wilmoth. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the cemetery of Fairview Baptist Church, with Dr. Andy Atkins and the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 2nd 2010 in the Cemetery of Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Andy Atkins and Rev. Todd Byrd conducting. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. The Family has requested that in lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 101 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Thompson family.
