Mrs. Stella Frances Brown Angell, 72, widow of Mr. Rufus Lee Angell, of State Road went home to be with the Lord and to reunite with her loving husband on his birthday on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County She was born in Surry County on December 19, 1935 to the late Ed and Viola Southern Brown. Mrs. Angell was a homemaker, a retired Supervisor from Carolina Manufacturing and a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Angell of the home, Diane and Kenneth Miller of Independence, Va. and Tammy and Lewis Holloway of Sparta, NC; two sons and daughters-law, James and Ellen Angell of Mountain Park, NC and Stephen and Melissa Chipman of Roaring River, NC, five grandchildren, Allison Angell, Sheena Miller, Tasha Novak, Nathan Key and Bridget Key; two great-grandchildren Ethan Chipman and Taylor Chipman; five brothers and three sisters-in-law Paul and Carol Brown, Claude and Rosa Lee Brown, Johnny and Linda Noah, Tommy Noah all of Dobson and R.L. Brown of Florida. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Angell was preceded in death by a son, Rufus Lee Angell, Jr.; two sisters, Rosa Lee Pierce and Pauline Noah and two brothers Buster and Daniel Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Rocky Ford Baptist Church with services held by Rev. Claude Lloyd, Rev. Jerry Adams and Rev. David Osbourne and burial to follow in Mountain Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Sunday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
