Mrs. Stella White Dockery, age 88, widow of Oliver Dockery, A loving mother, grandmother and sister is now in the arms of Jesus. She peacefully departed this world on December 18, 2006. She was a courageous, strong and loving Christian woman. She no longer has to struggle with pain and suffering which she has endured for many years. She was born in Surry County on May 23, 1918 to the late Emory and Nannie White. Mrs. Dockery was a homemaker and a member of Union Cross Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Helen Driver of Boonville, Sue and husband James Reece of Elkin and Buddy Dockery of Elkin; special granddaughter Robin Yvonne Carey of West Virginia and other grandchildren Kim (Jericho) Marshall, Tony Reece, Kandy (Joe) Neal, Kris (Jill) Dockery; great grandchildren Hope Driver, Blue Marshall, Sage Marshall, Kevin Neal, Tess Dockery, Kaleb Neal, Jake Dockery and Jett Dockery; sisters Victoria Stanley of Elkin, Lula Haynes both of Elkin; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Eva White and Roger and Betty White all of Elkin. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Jackie Lee Dockery who passed away on October 22, 2006,a grandson Tony Driver, brother Billy White. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday December 22, 2006 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM. The family would like to thank Elkin Health Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the love and care given to their mother.
