Stella Virginia Flippin Hill

Mrs. Stella Virginia Flippin Hill, age 89 of Mt. Airy, widow of William Roscoe Hill, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Hill was born in Surry County, May 1, 1917 to Joe Taylor and Delpinnie Boles Flippin. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Frances Everett of the home; grandchildren, Suzanne Vernon and husband Jon; Steve Everett and wife Heather all of Mt. Airy and David Everett and wife Shannon of Sparta; great grandchildren, Lakien Vernon; Mattie Everett, step great grandchildren, Dakota Speer, Kristain Vernon, step great-great grandchildren, Bradley Sloan and Adrianna Sloan and a sister, Lillie Beasley of Mt. Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtes Arrington, Martha Williams, Ellen Key, Susie Dawson, Annie Beasley and brothers, Curtis, Otis and Sam Flippin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Korner's Grove Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder Lacy Gates and Elder Junior Belton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at Moody Funeral Home where her body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service.
