Stephen Donnas Flippin

Mr. Stephen Donnas "Steve" Flippin, 67, of 172 Forest View Drive, Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, April 26, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Flippin was born April 21, 1947, in Surry County, the son of the late Alexander Flippin, Jr. and Ava Marie Scott Hutchens. Steve graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1965, and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He retired as the accounting manager from Wayne Farms after 37 years of service. A member of the Baptist faith, he was a member and past master of Granite Masonic Lodge #322 AF and AM. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ann Puckett Flippin of the home; a son, Stephen Brian Flippin of the home; a sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Flippin of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, Delois Puckett Hall of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 28, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Deward Scott and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the Doe Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
