Mr. Stephen Hardy Wilmoth, age 68, of Dobson, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning May 5, 2021, surrounded by family. “Steve” was a loving husband, wonderful father, brother, and grandfather. He was extremely proud of his family and a friend to so many; he cherished these relationships. Helping others was a true passion of his, often going out of his way to help those in need. Spending time with his family was what made him most happy. To say that he was a hard worker would be an understatement, as farming was where he spent much of his time. Steve was the definition of a true family man. Humble, kind, caring, and compassionate are just a few qualities that defined this great man. He proudly served as a deacon at Salem Fork Christian Church, and he deeply loved his church and church family. Those who knew Steve understood what a simple man he was yet had the ability to impact any and every one he ever met. He was loved by many, and he will be unbelievably missed. To know Steve was to love him. He was born in Surry County on September 28, 1952, to the late Howard Daniel Wilmoth and the late Pearl Hardy Wilmoth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kason Elijah Wilmoth, brother, Dickie Donald Wilmoth.
