Steven Elijah "Eli" Odum

Mr. Steven Elijah “Eli” Odum, 22, of Mt. Airy, passed away unexpectedly at his home, Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born in Surry County, June 9, 1999, to Steven Ray and Wendy Nunn Odum. Eli played football at North Surry High School and graduated in 2018. In addition to his parents, Eli will always be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Jordan Stanley, Raven Coleman, Andrew Odum, Destanie Odum Cousino, and Hunter Odum; as well as grandparents, Richard and Libby Nunn, and Bobby and Della Odum; nieces and nephews, Malikae Hylton, Xander Hylton, Jasmine Hylton, Savannah Watson, Broc Taylor, Maddox Taylor, Daisy Martin; aunts and uncles, Kim Martin, Stephanie Odum, Sherry Carlyle and husband Johnson, Matthew and Elisabeth Nunn; special cousins, Caleb and Gabriel France; a special family member Marc Watson; several cousins and many friends. Eli was preceded in death by a sister Jessica Stanley; and a grandmother, Barbara Smith Holdaway. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30 until the time of the service.
