Sue Wood Snow, 77, died peacefully on Monday morning March 19, 2007 in Titusville, Florida.
She was born in Surry County to the late Thomas Virgil Wood and the late Olevia Marion Wood. She lived in Dobson, NC before retiring to Titusville, Florida in 1992. Her son Michael Thomas (Mike) Snow and her two sisters Jane Wood and Rachel Wood Lowe Gant preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving daughter, Hilda and son-in-law Charles Knight of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; Four Grandchildren: Amy Blanton of Nashville, TN, John Badgett and wife Tina of Gorham, ME, Andrew (Andy) Snow of Hillsborough, NJ, and Mitchell Snow of Castle Hayne, NC, one Great-Granddaughter Briannah Badgett of Gorham, ME and her brother Danny Wood and wife, Juanita, of Dobson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several Marion family cousins and special friends: Margaret Honbarrier, Midge Brewer, Nancy Youree, Pat Freeman, and Barbara Stevens.Sue worked at Surry Truck and Tractor for many years, making life long friends. While in North Carolina, Sue enjoyed flower gardening and especially working with her blueberries. After retiring to Titusville, she always looked forward to visits with her North Carolina friends who came down for the winter or on vacation. She also loved the new friends she had made in Titusville and hosted a regular Friday card game. As an active member of the First Baptist Church in Titusville she enjoyed outings with "the lunch bunch ", her class meetings and the Young at Heart. These many friends filled her days and she dearly loved each one of them. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday March 24, 2007 at Salem Baptist Church in Dobson with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Snow family.
