Susan Lynne Alford

Susan Lynne Alford was born December 11,1965 to John Robert and Claire Lowery Alford. She died at the age of 58 on April 19th, 2024 after a short illness. She graduated from Enloe High School in 1984, and went on to graduate from UNC Chapel Hill in 1989 with a BS in Pharmacy. She consequently passed the N.C. State Boards in the same year. Susan’s varied pharmacy career pointed to her adaptation to all facets of pharmaceutical care. She worked in industrial, institutional, and retail pharmacy. But perhaps her favorite pharmacy setting, was working with her longtime friend Alice Dillard at Triangle pharmacy of Durham N.C. Susan undeniably loved people of all walks of life and it showed in her compassion and care in her work, community and family. Susan was adventurous and loved to experience life with friends on a whim. She was an avid gardner with a true green thumb. She entertained with grace, detail and always a smile. But, her greatest achievement and love were her children Alexa and Aaron and her furry friend Xayvier. Susan is preceded in death by her parents John Robert and Claire Lowery. She is survived by her sister, Janice Sherron and her 2 nephews John Dorsey and Jamie Sherron (Erica). Her 2 children Alexa Allen (Stephen) of Mt Airy and Aaron Allen of Raleigh NC. Susan Allen is and always will be forever a Tarheel. A celebration of life will be held on May 19, 2024 at The Feathered Farm in Zebulon, NC from 10:30am-12:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The North Carolina Botanical Garden.
