Susan "Susie" Euphasean Creed Bowman

Mrs. Susan "Susie" Euphasean Creed Bowman, 92, of 269 Welch Road, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at her home. Mrs. Bowman was born October 21, 1915, in Surry County, a daughter of the late Drew Robert and Mary Naomi Seal Creed. She retired from Spencer's Inc. after many years of service and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and J.D. Goins and Patricia and Don Richardson, all of Mount Airy, and Sandra and Charles Tesch of Rosenberg, TX; five grandchildren and spouses, Teresa and Frank Tucker of Pilot Mountain, Tammy and Gary Riddle, Ricky and Joy Richardson, and Chad and Terri Richardson, all of Mount Airy, and Sheri and Tim Bayko of Sugar Land, TX; a stepgrandson and spouse, Scott and Amanda Tesch of Rosenberg, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Justin Cruz, Sydney Hanzelka, Josh Tucker, Tyler Riddle, Tanner Riddle, Sarah Richardson, Cole Richardson, and Ty Richardson; a great-stepgrandson, Steven Tesch; a special niece, Frankie Boyd of Bristol, VA; a special nephew, Delma "Son" Creed of Mesa, AZ; and a niece, Juanita Beane of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Samuel Bowman; five sisters, Martha Creed, Sarah Phillips, Willie Gwyn, Mary Nichols, and Coy Snody; and two brothers, Robert Creed and Frank Creed. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Dr. Ray Hamilton and Dr. David Brady, and burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Gayle McCrary and Rose Dizon, for the genuine love, care, and kindness shown to Susie during her illness.
