Mrs. Susan Kay Boberschmidt Royster, age 74, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away on April 20, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, January 31, 1948, the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Clara Pini Boberschmidt. Mrs. Royster was retired from the State of North Carolina where she was the Trial Court Administrator. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Mount Airy, NC. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Michael F. Royster; her sons and daughters in law, Mark and Sue Royster, Ben and Sara Royster, and Brian and Kirsten Royster; her grandchildren, Shelby Royster and Caroline Royster; her sisters and brother-in-law, Claire and Don Bratcher and Catherine B. Larre; her brother, Lawrence Boberschmidt, brother-in-law, Nick Serena, brother-in-law, Stephen G. Royster, sister-in-law, Elaine H. Royster, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Ecuyer and Marie Serena, her sister-in-law, Lainie Boberschmidt, brother-in-law, Leonard Larre, and brother-in-law, Allen J. Ecuyer. A private Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church for her family. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 210 West Marion St., Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, with the Reverend Mike Queen officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 P.M. and the service will start promptly at 2:00 p.m, however members of the family will remain after the service to greet anyone who was not able to express their condolences prior to the beginning of the service. All of the family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and RidgeCrest for the wonderful care they provided for Susan. A special thanks to Lucille Doyle who visited her almost daily and to Myra Wills, a dedicated caregiver for three years. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1208 N. Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030, Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O.
