Mrs. Susie Puckett Coalson, 90, of 107 Prison Camp Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Coalson was born February 18, 1919, in Surry County, to the late Jesse and Lola Davis Puckett. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Geneva Nixon of Pfafftown and Ruth Hamlin of Elkin; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mitchell Coalson of Hamptonville, Mac D. and Ethel Coalson and Jimmy and Karen Coalson, all of Dobson; ten grandchildren and seven spouses, Angela and Douglas Escobar, Rocky and Irene Nixon, Greg Hamlin, Ricky and Jennifer Hamlin, Misty and Buddy Jones, Donnie Coalson, Brad and Theresa Coalson, Tammy and Bodge Brown, Josh Coalson, and Carrie and Brian Utt; sixteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Riggans of White Plains; a brother, Wade Puckett of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Pauline Puckett of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coalson was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Coalson; two sisters, Mary Bett Puckett and Laura Holder; and five brothers, Tom Puckett, Arlis Puckett, Robert Puckett, George Puckett, and Howard Puckett. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 26, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tom Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
