Swanson Jerry Hawks

Mr. Swanson Jerry Hawks, 64, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on February 14, 1954 to the late Swanson Coy and Willie Lee Snow Hawks.  Mr. Hawks was a mechanic at Pike Electric, and a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.  He is survived by his wife, Carol Payne Hawks of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Jason Anderson, Traci and Rodney Parries; grandchildren, Nicole Corns, Savana Parries, and Haylee Parries; a great grandchild, Caden Hawks; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Flippin, Shirley Tucker, and Lucille Riggans; brothers, James and Bobby Hawks.  A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Zane Fishel officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
