Sylvia Rebecca Ayers

Sylvia Rebecca Ayers, 88, of Hillsville, VA passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Patrick County, VA on September 22, 1929 to the late Robert and Susie Collins Ayers.  Sylvia was retired from DuPont after 35 years of service, and was a member of Rome Missionary Baptist Church.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Harless Tobler of Hillsville, VA; a sister, Mary McMillan of Mt. Airy; a brother, James Ayers of Laurel Fork, VA; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Lee Ayers; sisters, Magalene Thomas, and Effie Pruitt.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Burnett officiating.  Burial will follow in Bluemont Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
