Sylvia Dawn Conner

Ms. Sylvia Dawn Conner, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 7, 1974, to Doyle Calvin Conner and Barbara Jean Helms Wood. In addition to her father, Ms. Conner was preceded in death by her grandparents, Beamer and Lenna Conner. Sylvia loved to garden, cook, canning, preserving foods, and crochet. She spent countless hours volunteering in Meadows of Dan and loved her community. Ms. Conner was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. Despite health issues, she still loved helping people. Sylvia loved her daughter and son-in-law and cherished the time spent with them.

Ms. Conner is survived by her daughter, Amber Southern (Hunter) of Hillsville, Virginia; her mother, Barbara Jean Helms Wood of Woolwine, Virginia; one sister, Shelia Marshall (Linford) of Meadows of Dan, Virginia; one brother, Robby Conner (Rita) of Ararat, Virginia; one niece, Summer Conner of Ararat, Virginia.

A funeral service for Ms. Conner will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marcus Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Conner Family Cemetery on Mountain View Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations can be made to Meadows of Dan Ruritan, P.O.
