Mrs. Sylvia Gay Lewis Taylor, 77, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020.  She was born July 2, 1942, in Forsyth County, to the late George and Irene Pike Lewis.  She was a loving mother, sister, and friend, who will surely be missed by all who knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are a son, Denver Lee Taylor, Jr. and his fiancée, Michelle Sams; a sister, Dorothy Stevens; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Irene Lewis and Tim and April Lewis; two nieces, Teresa Marshall and her special friend, Mike Blevins, and Donna Phillips and her husband, Doug; three nephews, Mike Stevens, Gary Lewis, and Robbie Lewis; as well as a host of friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Lee “Dink” Taylor, Sr.  Respecting the current limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Brian Frazier officiating.  Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so on Thursday, June 24, 2020, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
