Tamala "Tammy" Lynn Vernon

Mrs. Tamala Lynn “Tammy” Willard Vernon, 52, of Cana, VA passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was the daughter of the late Charles Edger and Eddie Lee Love Willard, born in Haywood County on December 21, 1969.  Tammy was a kind-hearted person that greeted everyone with her warm smile.  Tammy was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church.  She loved her family and relished the time she had with them.  Tammy was an avid fan of Virginia Tech and was proud that her son Jacob was a graduate from there.  She is survived by her husband, Bobby Rex Vernon; her son Jacob Brady Vernon; several aunts and cousins.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Cana Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Combs and the Rev. Pete King officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Cana Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Russell Vass, 318 White Pines Country Club Road, Mt.
