Tammie Marie Jones Smith

Mrs. Tammie Marie Jones Smith, 39, of 222 Briarwood Lane, Jonesville, passed away Sunday evening, March 13, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born March 17, 1971, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of James Edward Jones, Jr. and the late Gladys Marie Flowers Jones. Tammie worked as a clerk in several local convenient stores, with her last employment at The Marathon Express located on Riverside Drive in Mount Airy. She attended The Gospel Chapel. She is survived by her husband, John Edward "Jesse" Smith of the home; two daughters, Destiny Conners of Raleigh and Tiffany Marie Davis of Mount Airy; a son, Curtis Conners of Oregon; her father and stepmother, James Edwards Jones, Jr. and Gloria Jones of Mount Airy; a half-sister, Deborah Wood of Mount Airy; and her paternal grandmother, Flora Hicks Jones of Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy will be in charge of the cremation. There are no local services planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
