Tavie Easter Bobbitt

Mrs. Tavie Easter Bobbitt, 84, of Cana, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows Nursing Home. Mrs. Bobbitt was born May 13, 1925, in Carroll County, VA, to the late and Jerry Elmer and Mattie McKinney Easter. She retired from Quality Mills after more than 40 years of service and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Joy Bobbitt of Cana, VA; two grandchildren, Vickie Inman and her husband, Jayme Dale, of Cana, VA, and Jamie Lee Bobbitt of Blacksburg, VA; a great-grandson, Nicholas Inman; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Betty Easter of Cana, VA; and four nieces and their spouses, Georgia and Gary McMillian, Carol and Jimmy Hiatt, and Patsy and Billy Barr, all of Cana, VA, and Nancy and Lonnie Utt of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bobbitt was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jackson Bobbitt. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Easter Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Todd E. Byrd officiating. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
