Mr. Taylor Bausie Brim, Sr., 91, of Rockingham, and formerly of Mount Airy, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Mr. Brim was born November 13, 1926, in Surry County, to the Rev. Charlie Preston Brim and Della Epperson Brim. He proudly sailed with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was discharged from the Army Transportation Corps. Mr. Brim was past Post Commander of VFW Post 4469 in Beckley, WV, a member of the VFW American Legion Post 32, and a member of DAV. He retired from Greyhound Bus Lines after 28 years as a driver. Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Gail Brim and Elizabeth Brim; a son, Taylor Brim, Jr.; two grandchildren, LeeAnn Keen and her husband, Chris, and Stefanie Gravely; a great-grandchild, Baylee Keen; a niece, Linda Ramey; and a nephew, Dale Ramey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Ramey. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, by Dr. David Sparks. Burial will follow in the Mount Herman United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank special friends Leroy Yates and Mike Davis, as well as Richmond County Hospice, for the exceptional care given to Mr. Brim.
