Ted Ray Bowman

Mr. Ted Ray Bowman, 55, of 6064 Ararat Highway, Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Bowman was born November 25, 1952, in Patrick County, VA, the ninth of eleven children born to the late Kermit and Clara Alice Marshall Bowman. Ted was a Patrick County school bus driver, a beef cattle farmer, and employed at Hall's Plants. Mr. Bowman was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Claudville, VA. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Clement Bowman of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chadwick and Mika Bowman of Forest, VA, and Derrick Bowman and special friend, Katie Marsh, of Ararat, VA; two grandchildren, Brett Bowman and Charlotte Bowman, both of Forest, VA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Velda and Bill Marshall and Carlene and Johnny Cain, all of Ararat, VA, and Lucille and Buck Hooker of Stoneville; four brothers and five sisters-in-law, Gray and June Bowman, Tim and Barbara Bowman, and Ricky and Lynn Bowman, all of Ararat, VA, Harold Bowman of Cana, VA, Lurene Bowman of Fancy Gap, VA, and Alice Bowman of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by three brothers, McKinley Bowman, R.M. Bowman, and Paul Bowman. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Dr. Jerry Whitlow, the Rev. Barry Clement, and the Rev. Homer Bowman, and burial will follow in the Clement Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
