Ted Harrison Martin, Sr

Mr. Ted Harrison Martin, Sr., 72, of 305 Arlington Street, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, February 22, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Martin was born June 9, 1936, in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Verner and Margaret Martin Martin. Ted was the former owner and operator of Martin Claims Service Inc. and a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ted Harrison Martin, Jr. and Janet Martin; two granddaughters, Tara H. Martin of Sedalia, MO, and Tonya L. Martin of Mount Airy; two stepgrandchildren, Adam M. Lawson of Pinnacle and Melanie M. Lawson of Mount Airy; and three great-grandchildren, Holice Marie Lesmeister and Brice Anthony Lesmeister, both of Appleton City, MO, and Sara Lynn Kingsbury of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ruth Adams Martin. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Joel Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
