Mr. Teddie Joe Stevens, 66, of 1420 Rogers Road, Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, May 7, 2016, at his home. Mr. Stevens was born September 26, 1949, in Stokes County, the son of the late Otis and Maggie Lou Wood Stevens. Teddie was formerly employed as a machine fixer at Renfro Corporation and was a tobacco farmer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martie Lane Stevens of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Tonya Stevens and Gray and Jamie Stevens, all of Mount Airy; six grandchildren, Hunter Stevens, Jakob Todd, Katherine Stevens, Ashton Stevens, Jeremy Stevens, and Krysten Stevens; a sister, Betty Stevens of Mount Airy; seven brothers and four sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Stevens, Bernie Stevens, Tony Stevens, Terry and Melissa Stevens, and Thomas and Melissa Stevens, all of Mount Airy; Mike Stevens of Westfield, and Mitch and Lynn Stevens of Pilot Mountain; many nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Nell Lane White of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bertha Stevens; two sisters, Gladys Myers and Judy Stevens; and two brothers, Leo Stevens and David Stevens. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Joey Lane and the Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
