Terry Bruce Childress

Mr. Terry “Bruce” Childress, age 67, of Dobson, NC passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Pruitt Health in Elkin. He was born in Surry County, NC on April 22, 1955 to the late Homer Junior Childress and the late Thelma Mae Marion Childress. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Childress, and nephew, Kendall Childress. Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law Allan and Leona Childress; grandchildren, Lillian and Addison Childress; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Joe Greene; nieces and nephews, Cassie Childress Pike and her husband Chris Pike, Rodney Bledsoe, Jonathan and his wife Chenoa Bledsoe; great-niece and nephews, Chloe Childress, A.C. Pike and Isaac Bledsoe. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, had worked for Chatham Manufacturing and Hugh Chatham Hospital. One of Bruce’s greatest passions in life was being the Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America in Dobson with Troop 529. He also shared many memories of making music and playing his banjo with his special friends Arlin and Edna Jean Stanley. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Brother Bill Jenkins and Brother Chris Leupold officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church, Monday, April 3, 2023. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Childress family.
