Terry Lee Collins

Mr. Terry Lee Collins, 55, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on June 11, 1967, to the late Raymond and Barbara Hutson Collins.  Mr. Collins was a respected English teacher for the last 18 years.  Prior to his teaching career, he was a well-published author of various children’s books, comics books, and other works.  He is survived by his wife, Virgina “Ginny” Lennox Collins; his step-son, Scott and Andrea Kniskern; grandchildren, Chase Kniskern, and Ellie Kniskern; his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Brad Marshall and her son, Will McMillian.  Mr. Collins had several life-long friends that he loved; Al Bigley, Kerry Boyd, Eddie Hodges, John Richardson, and Rodney Webb.  There will not be any formal services at this time.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Surry Animal Rescue (501 c3), P.O.
