Terry Jane Clippard Petty

Ms. Terry Jane Clippard Petty, 54, of 16 Wolf Creek Lane, Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday morning, October 16, 2010, at her home. Ms. Petty was born October 7, 1956, in Palm Bay, FL, daughter of Marguerite Cloninger Clippard and the late James Moore Clippard. Terry was formerly employed as a truck driver at Dobson Trucking Inc. and attended Doe Run Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Jason Baker of Ararat, VA; two sons, Joseph Petty of Sherwood, AR, and Michael Petty and his fiancée, Denise Vaughn, of Ararat, VA; a grandson, Jackson Paul Baker of Ararat, VA; her mother, Marguerite Cloninger Clippard of Ararat, VA; a sister, Susan Tucker of Melbourne, FL; a brother, Joel Clippard of Claudville, VA; a brother-in-law, Tom Tucker of Titusville, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Ms. Petty was preceded in death by her former husband, Gary Dennis Petty. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Vaughan officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home or the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hematology-Oncology Department/Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 21757.
